Pre-school Timetable

 

 

 

Morning pre-school sessions run from Monday to Friday from 8.45 – 11.15am.  Our typical morning routine is as follows:

 

 

8.45am             Arrival Time

·       Time to arrive and settle at an activity of the children’s choice.

 

9.00am             Registration Time

·       We sit together as a group and the register is taken.

·       We look at our visual timetable and discuss our topic and the activities that we have available today.

·       News and views are exchanged.

·       If we are doing show and tell, the children have an opportunity to show the others something and tell them about it. (Alternate terms)

 

9.15am             Free Play Time

·       Children are able to choose from a variety of different activities, including outdoor play wherever possible.

·       A craft activity is usually available and ties in with our current project.

·       The older children spend some time completing work on set activities that will enhance and develop their pre-school skills.

 

10.10am            Tidy up Time

·       Everyone takes part and the children are encouraged to take care of the toys they have been playing with.

 

10.30am            Snack Time

·       Children wash their hands and then sit at tables for their snack.

·       Children are offered a drink of milk and a choice of fruit pieces (if your child does not drink milk or water, please provide a named bottle of diluted squash).

 

10.40am            Singing Time

·       Everyone joins together to sing songs and rhymes.

 

10.50am            Large activity time (outdoor or indoor)

·       This is the time when we share circle games, whole group games and other activities associated with physical education.

 

11.05am            Story Time

·       Whole group participation.

 

11.15am            Home Time

                    This routine is kept flexible to allow for:

 

·       Visitors

·       Outdoor Ventures

·       New parents visiting

·       Trips to Clanfield Church of England Primary School

 

 

 

Lunch club and afternoon sessions run from Monday to Friday from 11.15am – 2.45pm.  Our typical routine is as follows:

 

 

11.15am            Registration Time

·       We sit together as a group and the register is taken.

·       We discuss our topic and the activities that we have available today.

·       News and views are exchanged.

·       If we are doing show and tell, the children have an opportunity to show the others something and tell them about it. (Alternate terms)

 

11.25am            Free play time

·       Children are able to choose from a choice of activities.

 

11.35am –12.15 Lunch time

·       Children wash their hands, then sit together at the tables to eat their packed lunches together.

 

 

 

Our typical afternoon routine is as follows.

 

 

12.15pm           Quiet Story time

·       The children group together for a story in the comfy corner.

 

12.20pm             Registration time

·       We follow the usual registration routine as for lunch club and morning sessions.

 

12.30pm            Free Play Time

·       The children are offered a new variety of activities.

·       The comfy corner is available for children to rest if they chose to.

·       The older children spend some time completing work on set activities that will enhance and develop their pre-school skills.

 

1.30pm            Tidy up Time

·       Everyone takes part and the children are encouraged to take care of the toys they have been playing with.

 

1.45pm            Snack Time
